Favorite Travel Handmade Projects
Remember when I mentioned Travel Handmade? Well, the Sewing Summit pin board dedicated to Travel Handmade is dripping with some of the most amazing projects and patterns for everything from key fobs to weekender bags. I have to warn you though, only look at the pin board if you are able to immediately sit down and sew afterward.
I want to make literally EVERYTHING pinned to the board, but I narrowed it down to 4 things that I realistically have the time and ability to make.
1. DIY 5-Step Wristlet
Love the chevron, love the bright zippers, love it all. This project from Kristina J was originally made using a serger only, but I am sure you can use a sewing machine just as easily.
2. Braided Handle Canvas Tote
I love the clean look of this bag, and the braided handle and snaps give it a professional look. This project, originally posted on The Purl Bee, only requires a handful of supplies and could easily be made in an evening. Gotta love quick projects!
3. Eye Candy Clutch
The combination of the ombre fabric choice and ruching make this grab-and-go clutch a winner in my book. For me, I can never have too many purses, especially cute ones like this. This easy tutorial was posted on Sew, Mama, Sew! as part of their Summer Sewing series.
4. Makeup Brush Roll
If I could, I would have every type of makeup brush ever created. And, I like to keep my brushes separate from my makeup, so this project is right up my alley.
(You do have to be a registered member of their site to download the instructions, but its free and easy so no worries!)
Take a look around the Travel Handmade Pinterest board. I chose my favorites, what are yours?
