Grading Seams

November 1, 2010 in General

When sewing with any type of fabric it is important to grade your seam. This will give your garment a clean and store purchased look when it is finished.  To grade a seam you will trim the inside layer shorter than the outside later of the seam allowance after you have sewn them together. If you are sewing a neckline seam, trim your seam allowance in half then trim the inside layer shorter than that. seam
