Well, hello there, Totally Stitchin’ friends! Want to learn how to hem a chiffon evening gown or formal dress? Jump right in and watch my 3-part video series! And, if you want to take this skill a step further, take my online sewing class where we’ll talk about more fabrics and hemming methods (read on to learn more)!
When I was in college for fashion design, I worked at a small bridal shop and learned how to alter evening gowns. And, when I graduated, I started a little home business teaching sewing lessons and altering bridal/evening wear. Special events like homecoming, prom, and weddings can get really expensive! Before you even get to alterations, you’re typically paying for the dress, proper undergarments to suit the dress, the jewelry, maybe hair and make up, the shoes, and perhaps even a clutch! I, myself, as a bridesmaid in a couple of weddings, have been very thankful that I possess the skill to hem or take in my own gown when necessary (saving me much $)! Well, if you’re pretty comfortable with a sewing machine and serger, I bring you good news! We, at Baby Lock, made a video tutorial series on How to Hem a Chiffon Evening Gown (see below)! Keep on reading to learn about my full, extensive online hemming class that goes over other hemming methods, fabric, and how to hem long to short!
