Totally Stitchin': Nancy Zieman Hobo Tote

Have you heard? Nancy Zieman designed a new purse pattern called Trace N’ Create Template- Nancy’s Hobo Tote Collection¬†for Clover, and Nancy is celebrating by hosting a blog hop featuring the new template. Luckily for us, Totally Stitchin’ was asked to host a stop on the tour! As part of this fun event, I received Nancy’s Hobo Tote Template, purse hardware from Clover, and two different interfacings from Lazy Girl Designs to make my very own hobo tote!

Once I opened the packages, I knew immediately that I wanted to make the largest of the three bags included in the template and that I wanted really fun, trendy-looking fabric. The style I chose to make can easily be made with 4 different fat quarters for the outside, but my creative juices were flowing and I put my own spin on things.

I used the floral print for the top half of the tote and solid purple for the background of the bottom half of the tote. I then added a ruched layer of sheer black over the solid purple to add dimension to the bag.

The great thing about this template is that it really allows to put your creativity to use and make it your own. Besides the ruching, I also added a cute bow to the front of the bag.

I LOVE how my Hobo Tote turned out! The template was easy to use and the interfacing and purse hardware made my bag very sturdy and gave it a very polished look.
