Quilt Festival Recap

November 9, 2012 in News

I had the opportunity to go to International Quilt Festival last week, and it was awesome! Basically, it was rows upon rows of everything you could ever want or need to create the most amazing quilts. While it was technically a work trip, I did manage to pick up some goodies while I was there 🙂

I picked up some of the most beautiful fat quarters I have ever seen, and I cannot wait to make them into the “Senior Prom” quilt. Here’s to making my first quilt!

1. I picked up 10 of my fat quarters from the Villa Rosa Designs booth. The owners were young, hip and super friendly, and, of course, they had an awesome fabric selection!

2. Confession: I have an addiction to rhinestones! The Dreamtime Creations booth had every color of Swarovski Elements stones you could ever want or need. It was heaven! The pictures doesn’t do them justice, but I chose a luscious gold that I can’t wait to use.

3. The ladies in the Moda Bakeshop booth were giving out potholders. So cute and so clever!

4. Aren’t those cutest, most festive earrings? They are handmade starting with watercolor board, painted, embellished, then sealed with resin. I love fun holiday earrings!

More festival eye candy: a great quote sewn onto a quilt, an embellished, intricate quilt on display, and cute embroidery hoop decor!

Needless to say, Festival was AWESOME… I was like a kid in a candy store! If you ever have the opportunity to attend this event, I would highly recommend it.
