Satin Binding Baby Blanket

February 20, 2014 in Tips & Tricks

I just recently had some sewing students request to learn how to sew satin binding onto a baby blanket…and, though I had sewn many a binding, I had never tried out the pre-made satin binding. So, I got to experiment for baby Griffin!

Bah! I love it so much! There are many tutorials out there, but, here is the one I favored.

And, if you were wondering, I used the Sponge font with a fun texture for Griffin’s name from my awesome MasterWorks III computer embroidery program, embroidered with my wonderful Baby Lock Esante. :)

  1. This is a precious blanket. I have the same fabric and have been wondering what to do with it. I have a grandson that is too old for blankets now, but I might make one for my “hope chest” for my other two daughters who are not even married yet. I made a satin bound binky blanket several years ago and had completely forgotten about it. Thank you for the inspiration.
