Selecting Quilting Fabric

It’s easy to be overwhelmend with the fabric options in a store, but don’t let the limitless possibilities trouble you. Instead stay focused, find one bolt you like and start to match.

fat-quartersWhen selecting your fabrics in the store, stack the bolts together horizontally to see how they’ll work together. Be sure to stand back to get a better look at how they’ll blend.

If you feel like something is missing stack the bolts from light to dark. Or make sure you have an equal number lights, darks and nuertrals in your selection.

Can’t find all the right fabrics in one store? Simple, make a fabric swatch card using snips of your fabric, then tuck it in your purse for shopping.
