Snow Day Sew Day!
Am I right? Have you had any snow days recently? What are you making? Tell us in the comments section or post a picture on our Totally Stitchin’ Facebook Page! We always love to see what people are making!
We just had several snow days here in the STL region as we got somewhere around a foot of snow, give or take! And, it has been frigid! Sooooo, guess what I got to do…you guessed it! Sew!!!! As a result, my 3 year old got a new princess dress!
Complete with a circle skirt petticoat (perfect because it can go under any of her princess dresses)!
Giving it lots of poof!
I made it from a lightweight corduroy (with a ribbon belt stitched down in front, closure in back). I also included hook and loop tape on the straps and belt so that it can grow with her. The back bodice (into the waistline seam) were cut large and cinched with elastic so that can grow with her as well. There is also 5″ of hem in this skirt to allow for height if we ever want to make it longer…I’d probably just make a new dress and give this one to someone…lol.
“Ok, Mom! I’m done taking pictures!” 🙂
Tell us what you did on your snow day!!
