The Coolest Take on “Craft Show”

November 22, 2011 in News

Have you had success in craft shows? If so, what do you sell? Are there shows that you have found to be better than others? I tried one in October and it turned out to be a bust and what felt like a waist of time. However, I am trying another one this weekend that was recommended by a friend who said I should try putting some tutus in it. I don’t craft a lot, but, it’s pretty fun from time to time! The show this weekend (in St. Louis, MO) is called the Rock n Roll Craft Show. It has the coolest concept. Here’s the deal, we, the crafters, pay a low cost to have our pictures juried and the staff decide what they want in the show. After you are accepted, you make what you want and inventory it with a spread sheet. Your inventory list is due about 2 weeks before and you take your items up there 1 week before the show. It is then organized into somewhat of a department store, so, each craft section is more focused and customers make one transaction at the end (rather than multiple from booth to booth). The craft show is always Thanksgiving weekend (prime time!) on The Delmar Loop in St. Louis (a pretty happenin’ place!). What is also nice is that we, the crafters, only have to work 2 hours the entire weekend (so, it doesn’t eat up your whole day, let alone your entire Thanksgiving weekend)!! I made a bunch of these tutus (like the ones posted above and below) with my Baby Lock Sewing Machine and embroidered onesies with my Baby Lock Esante! I’ll post some pictures of the Christmas ones that I did next week (I can’t believe I forgot to take pictures)! Anyways, they’ll be super cute with tights!! If you’re in St. Louis, MO this weekend, come check it out! More info below or Rock n Roll Craft Show!
