Ways to Help Moore, OK

May 22, 2013 in News

Everyone affected by the storms in Oklahoma are in our hearts. As they begin to heal and rebuild, I wanted to share a few ways that the Totally Stitchin’ community can help out.

1. Donate to the Red Cross

There are 3 easy ways to make a much-needed monetary donation to the Oklahoma Red Cross:

  • Donate online.
  • CallĀ 1-800-REDCROSS.
  • Text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

2. Donate a Quilt or Blanket

  • Ellen Medlock of Ellen Medlock Studio Store in Tulsa, OK is hosting a Quilt Drive to gather quilts and blankets to give to those in need.

Ship quilts/blankets to:

OK Quilt Drive
c/o Ellen Medlock Studio Store
10032 S. Sheridan Rd, Suite H-1
Tulsa, OK 74133

  • The Oklahoma City Modern Quilt Guild is also collecting quilts to donate to victims in need. Find that info here.

3. Sew a Garment for “Sewing to Rebuild”

The “Sewing to Rebuild” initiative was started to help victims who have lost everything. Sew a garment and send it to:

Green Style Creations
c/o Sewing to Rebuild
508 Conquistador Ct
Edmond, OK 73025

There are also a few free garment patterns provided right here.

If there are other ways to help Moore, OK, please leave the information in the comments below. Thank you!
