I’m thinking a 47″x 25″ table. It will fit nicely in the nook of my sewing room. Anyone ever done this? I’m thinking 3/8″ plywood,…[Read more]

Fashion Sewers 1 year, 5 months agoMy husband asked me to make him some over his boots foot warmers for when he is in the deer stand and to use something called thinsulate. Annnnyyyyboodddyyyy wanna point me in the right direction? I’ve never even made a sock!
-
Hi Whitney, Thinsulate is a product trademarked by 3M. It is their brand of insulated fabric material which is often used to line jackets, gloves and hats to keep moisture out. You can buy insulated fabric material for sewing at your local fabric shop and make some over-boot socks in no time! Here is an example you can go off of of how to do it!
-
Awesome! THanks! But where is the example?
-
Oops! Oh no! Let me try and find it again!

My husband is making me a cutting table that is 48″x24″….similar to your size. We are using Baltic Birch Plywood (has a much smoother finish) and is plywood on the inside and Baltic Birch on the outside. It’s very nice wood. Will have a shelf with cubby holes underneath too! We are mounting an OLFA mat on about 2/3 of it (24×18). It will be…[Read more]
